Clipperz password manager is a huge Javascript application downloaded to your browser before you sign-in. No further Javascript code is downloaded to your browser after the login page is loaded. Therefore it’s quite easy to take a look at the whole application code and verify if it is a genuine version.
(Interested in hosting Clipperz checksums on your own servers? Drop me a line!)
But since the Javascript code is heavily optimized and compressed, it’s also very hard to read. To make life easier to our code reviewers, we have been providing a downloadable zipped folder with the source files in their original form since the first Clipperz release.
Now we introduce the Apache Ant script that, moving from the source files, builds exactly the same file loaded by the Clipperz login page. Just look for the build.xml file within the zipped folder and follow the instructions.
Clipperz is the only online password manager to offer such a level of transparency.
PS - You can even include the Javascript code of our crypto primitives in your web applications since we packed them into the Clipperz Javascript Crypto Library, released under a BSD AGPL license.
